Thank you for agreeing to participate in the Energy Saving Trust (EST) Advanced Heating Controls Field Trial.
The objective of this project is to undertake large scale field trials, in approximately 600 homes, to measure
the performance of advanced room thermostats. They are known as 'chrono-proportional' thermostats and
allow much closer control of room temperature - and can easily be installed in place of your existing room
thermostat. They are currently being marketed and installed by established companies such as Honeywell
and Danfoss. The controls industry claims that this simple measure can generate energy savings of up to
10% of gas used for central heating.
